Job Description:
The system engineer will join the Industrial Systems team and will be part of an international team responsible for developing, testing and documenting hardware reference designs for subsystems in Factory Automation and Control. This position is based in Freising, Germany, reporting to the Industrial Systems Manager.
In this role, you will develop hardware reference designs for subsystems in the Factory Automation and Control sector to help customers’ engineers evaluate and select TI product solutions in their target application. You will be responsible for the entire design cycle: From the definition of the hardware architecture, circuit simulation, individual device selection, CAD design, until test, validation and design documentation.
You will continuously work with the product lines, TI field application engineers and customers to optimize the hardware reference designs, share system knowledge and identify new products to help grow TI’s market share in industrial.
Responsibilities:
• Development of hardware reference designs for subsystems in Factory Automation and Control
• Translate the subsystem specification into an appropriate hardware and software architecture and individual IC device specifications
• Circuit analysis, circuit simulation and component selection
• Schematics design entry and PCB layout according to industrial EMC / EMI standards
• Design test, validation and documentation
• Establish a close working relationship with the TI field application engineers and product lines to share and gain knowledge
• Identify product and technology gaps and define new products or product enhancements
• Present and train the TI field application engineers and customers on the TI designs for Factory Automation and Control
Technical:
• At minimum electrical engineering bachelor’s degree or equivalent with focus on Analog
• Analog hardware design experience (schematics, layout) or application engineering experience
• Experience in hardware design for industrial systems is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills in analog hardware system design and system level partitioning for analog and digital ICs
• Experience on analog simulation tools like SPICE and signal integrity tools
• Experience using CAD software like Altium, Cadence, etc. to design PCBs: schematic capture and PCB layout
• Experience in hardware prototyping, test and debug
• Experience in writing design documentation like application reports, EVM user’s guides, etc.
Communication and Interpersonal:
• Ability to work in multinational and multi-site teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Writing and presentation skills
• Fluent oral and written English communication skills
