Category Manager (m/f) BBQ – EMEA

Tasks and responsibilities

• Owns Product & Brand Strategy for its categories driving profitable growth
– Initiates and performs research, analysis and action planning to ensure appropriate Marketing Mix for its categories
– Identifies and exploits market opportunities in order to maximize sales and profit
– Ensures that pricing and profitability is in line with targets across EMEA.
Contributes to EMEA Strategic Plan and Budget Development
• Leads New Product Development and drives innovation
– Generates consumer and customer insights
– Develops a 3 to 5 year product road map for the business in line with strategic plan
– Executes in close collaboration with R&D and other functions against this road map
• Initiates Communication, Advertising and Promotion
– Creates promotion strategies for its business. Contributes to plans and standards for advertising and product promotions
– Initiates and directs efficient development of POS material (incl. Packaging and Catalogues) with the objective to generate synergies and consistency, reinforcing an appropriate brand image
– Closely collaborates with the Brand & Communication department
• Closely collaborates with EMEA markets and US headquarter
– Acts convincingly and passionately as “owner” and “face” of the category
– Generates passion and enthusiasm behind its initiatives
– Is involved in strategic customer relationships and visits whenever appropriate
• Leads one direct report, ensuring constant training and coaching in order to further develop required skills

Profile and competences

• Bachelors degree in Marketing. MBA or equivalent is preferred
• Minimum 4-6 years experience in International Product Marketing in well known Durables & / or FMCG companies, additional experience in Sales preferred
• International experience required, i.e. part of career took place outside home country and is experienced working with different cultures
• Meaningful experience in all Marketing Mix elements with focus on international Product Development and Communication
• Excellent strategic and operational skills; a strong strategic thinker with with the capacity to contribute to a comprehensive and visionary brand and marketing story who has proven to turn insights into action
• Sophisticated analytical skills (incl. meaningful financial understanding) and presentation skills
• Solid technical understanding / passion for technical products is considered a plus
• Fluency in English is a must (company language) ; additional European languages are a plus
